Hump Day Hook is a weekly blog hop where participants post one paragraph from a published book or work in progress to hook readers.

This week, I want to continue the scene from last week’s HDH post. Three of my Bound by Blood characters wanted me to write a scene for them a little while ago, and in last week’s post, Sean’s two lovers Laurent (a vampire) and Teddy (a seer) discovered him admiring himself in the mirror. They expected it to be easy to tease him into a sexy moment; what they didn’t expect was his announcement.

“I want to try nude modeling. What do you guys think?”

“I don’t want you to,” Teddy replied bluntly, crossing his arms over his chest as he always did when he had cause for concern.

The vampire’s visage mirrored his lover’s frown, with the addition of fangs, as his hand dropped away from the firm bottom cheek. “Nor do I,” Laurent concurred, not concealing the fact that his eyes roved over the nude form. Sean had a beautiful body; that was true. He would likely have quite a lucrative career if he pursued modeling, but that didn’t mean Laurent had to like it. And if Teddy was opposed to the idea, there was a high probability that he had seen something that gave him reason. The vampire ran his long fingers through his lover’s red hair to take the sharpness out of his voice as he asked, “Why would you want to do something like that, Sean?”

“Look at me, babe,” he said in answer, gesturing to his body as he did a full turn, showing off every feature. “I am gorgeous. The real question is, why not?”

Bound by Blood is my gay paranormal erotic romance series set in modern-day NYC. I hope to be able to publish the first book in the series later this year.

The list of participating Hump Day Hook writers can be found here or visit the HDH Facebook group to find all the paragraph hooks. You can also search #HDH on Twitter for posts. Remember, writers love feedback so feel free to “like” and comment! Sharing is also appreciated.
